Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance)

Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in the Plastic Injection Moulding? Are you capable of leading maintenance programmes in Injection Mould machines? Are you experienced and capable of working directly with mould machines to improve parameters, cycle times and resolve problems?

Mamujee Products Ltd is now recruiting a Mechanical Engineer working in a plastic injection moulding environment.

In the role you will be responsible for (The Job):

• Optimize injection process parameters, injection problem solving, injection mould defects and basic machine maintenance for injection, IBM & blow moulding plastic machines in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical aspect.

• Loading, setting and operating injection moulding press machinery

• Working and liaising with other technicians in continuous improvement in regards to machine breakdowns ensuring downtime is minimized.

• To understand the Quality First philosophy, ensuring quality standards are achieved in terms of Right First Time (RFT) and ensure Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) checks are completed and non-conformance is challenged.

• Actively lead and train cycle time/production which guarantees optimization of quality, cost, delivery and all process so as efficiency is increased and production targets are met on time.

• To complete all tool change, set up, colour change and filling the maintenance tooling history documentation in accordance with the company quality assurance standards.

• Also ensure all procedures are adhered to and any improvements are documented and communicated to the moulding team.

• Support the Technical Engineering Team with new business and prototype parts where necessary. Liaising with mould manufacturers as to the type of mould we require i.e. 25gms to 500gm jars and bottles moulds.

• In addition, the job requires the engineer to maintain filling cream machines, labeling machines as well as cream making machine

 

 

To be considered for this position you must have the following background/experience (The Person ):

• As the ideal candidate you need be a seasoned engineer with an understanding of polymer materials. We are looking for someone who is capable and highly competent in carrying out tool changes and conditions, setting to a consistently high standard and maximum output from injection moulding machines.

• Having a full understanding technical knowledge (moulding/tooling/ancillary equipment) of injection machines such as IBM and Blow moulding. To be able to trouble shoot the process and equipment, and apply or identify corrective actions.

• A hands on Maintenance Technician with a background in a manufacturing based environment and you will have a strong mix of the following skills and experience;
  
  
  
  

• Education level – At least diploma level

• Mechanical engineering background, preferably with experience of plastic jars manufacturing and be responsive to customer needs.

• Minimum of 5 years Injection Moulding experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to effectively train others in all aspects within the mould shop

• Experience in using the AutoCAD software.
